we bought a house

We will be moving from Arlington, VA to Alexandria, VA, still in the DC Metro area. Built in 1952, it's on a corner lot with a detached garage. Before putting an offer on this one, we had toured well over two dozen houses, plus made (and eventually withdrew) an offer on a different house (that's a story for another post). We are IN LOVE with this house.

You enter the house directly into the living room. Original wood floors in GREAT shape, working wood fireplace.

The doorway leads to the kitchen. The window faces west.

The living room again. The picture window faces north.

The kitchen was renovated last year. The counters aren't our style, but they're very nice and we'll leave them alone for now. We'd prefer concrete or something more eco-friendly, but there's nothing wrong with these.

Standing at the stove, looking toward the dining area. The door just beyond the counter is to the utility room and back door. The door at the end of the room leads to the master bedroom.

The window over the sink faces south and looks out at the yard and detached garage.

The dining area. Our antique porcelain industrial pendant will look great in there.

Master bedroom. On the right is the bathroom and closet (not shown). There are two windows, both facing east, and they look out at the side yard.

Hall bathroom, newly renovated. It's great that Brian fits under both shower heads!

Second bedroom. The window faces east and looks out at the side yard.

Office. The corner windows face north and east, and the single window faces east. Can't wait to work in here!

Utility room. The washer and dryer are coming out, and eventually the water line will be moved so my w/d are side by side.

Detached garage, big enough for my car, all the bikes, our golf clubs, and yard stuff.

Joey's Rawhide Dance

This little dance occurs each time we give Joey a rawhide. It cracks us up.
